Friday 11 December 1908BOROUGH POLICE COURT. Monday: Before Mr. T. H. Atherden.
STEALING HALF-A-SOVEREIGN.
Harold Abley a youth of Chapel Row, Sand- pits, was charged with stealing a half-sovereign from the bakehouse of Mr. William Weale, baker, etc., the Sandpits, on Saturday.
Supt. Perry said the boy was arrested by Sergt. Fletcher, who found a portion of the money stolen, and prisoner admitted the offence. He should offer evidence of arrest, and apply for a remand until Tuesday.
Sergt. Fletcher stated he received information on Saturday night of the loss of half-a-sovereign from Mr. Weale's bakehouse, and at 10.30 he arrested the prisoner, and recovered a portion of the money in a wall at the back of Mr. Fennell's shop. Defendant admitted the offence. Defendant had nothing to say, and was remanded until Tuesday.

MARRIED AT MERTHYR
CAERPHILLY WOMAN GRANTED A DIVORCE.
In the Divorce Court on Monday, before the President (Lord Merrivale). Mrs. Elizabeth Abley of Goodrich-street. Caerphilly. petitioned for the dissolution of her marriage on the ground of the misconduct of her husband. Ernest Harold Abley with a woman at an address in St. Mary's-terrace, Paddington. The suit was undefended.
Mr. and Mrs. Abey were married in December, 1912, at the Registry Office. Merthyr Tydfil, and there are five children. In 1927 respondent obtained work in London, and in July. 1929 his son went with him and stayed at an address in St. Mary's-terrace. Paddington. In consequence of what he saw he formed his mother. who commenced divorce proceedings.
Evidence was given by Mrs Ablev and by her son. Ronald Ernest Reginald Able Lord Merrivale granted petitioner A decree nisi, with costs. and gave her the custody of the four youngest children of the marriage.
