FUNERAL OF THE LATE REV. ISHMAEL EVANS.
The funeral of the late Rev. Ishmael Evans, an ex-Moderator of the Welsh Wesleyan Assembly and one of the oldest ministers of that denomination in Wales, took place at Llanbeblig Churchyard, Carnarvon, on Wednesday afternoon last week.
The body, accompanied by the principal mourners, was removed to Ebenezer Chapel, where the funeral service was held under the direction of the pastor (the Rev. R. Mon Hughes). Addresses were delivered by the Revs. Thomas Hughes (Moderator of the North Wales Wesleyan Synod), W. O. Evans (Liverpool), Madoc Roberts (Bangor), Tecwyn Evans, and Dr. Owen Davies (Carnarvon).
From the chapel to the churchyard the funeral was of a public character, among those present being members of the Carnarvon Board of Guardians, on which the rev. gentleman had sat for several years. A preliminary service at the house was conducted by the Revs. Richard Jones and Bryan Jones, and at the graveside the Revs. Tegla Davies and G. O. Roberts (Morfin) officiated.
