        Dines - Chandler
A Ramsgate couple who met on Good Friday, 8th April, 54 years ago and who make the comment that Good Friday has never since fallen on that date, celebrated their golden wedding, on Thursday,
Married at. St. Luke's Church, Ramsgate, on 24th April, 1902, Mr. Frederick Charles Dines and Miss Emma Elizabeth Chandler were both born and brought up in Ramsgate. Now aged 74 and 69 respectively, the couple can look back on a life together in which they "always went 50-50 in everything."
Mr. Dines, who started work as a fishmonger's assistant at the age of 11. has carried on this trade with various Ramsgate firms ever since. For 26 years he was employed by the firm of Munday's and is now employed by Messrs. Hall, of King- street.
"I like to keep on working," said Mr. Dines. "I've always been active and I am happier and healthier working than I should be if I retired.
Mr. and Mrs. Dines have five children, all now married, five grand- children and one great-grandchild. Most of them will be at a celebration party in the old couple's home, 4. Trinity-place, tomorrow (Sunday). Mrs, Dines has had an iced cake made for the party. "I couldn't think of putting fifty candles on it" she said. "We shall make do with electric light."
