        TRAGIC DEATH OF A COACHMAN.
The death of William Kishere. a coachman, in the employ of Mr. C. W. Jordan, and a descendant of the well-known Mortlake potters, of "Toby jug" fame, occurred under tragic circumstances at the Sun Inn, Barnes Green, on Wednesday morning. It appears that the deceased, who was well known and respected, was in the habit of calling at the Sun Inn on his way to work, and on Wednesday morning sat down, after being served with his glass of beer. Shortly afterwards he fell from the chair insensible. Dr. Hamilton was summoned and arrived immediately, and pronounced life extinct.
Dr. M. H. Taylor held an inquest on the body! yesterday at Mortlake.
Mrs. Charlotte Kishere, of 41, South Worple Way, identified the body as that of her husband, aged 55 years. He worked as a coachman for Mr. Jordan, the jobmaster, and early in the year he fell off a brougham, injuring his collar-bone, chest, and back of his head. He was laid up for four months, but got well again. During the last few weeks he had complained of pains in his chest, but appeared to be all right when witness left him at 7.20 on Wednesday morning to go to work. She next heard that he had fallen down in the Sun Inn.
Frank Hulbert, the son of the licensee of the Sun Inn, stated that he knew deceased. On Wednesday morning at a quarter past eight he came in and called for a glass of beer. He seemed all right, but witness noticed that, instead of standing to drink it as he usually did, he went and sat down. Deceased usually said, “Good morning," when he came in, but on Wednesday morning he did not make any remark. After he sat down, witness's attention was called to another part of the bay, but on hearing a fall he turned round and saw deceased lying on the floor. Witness went to his assistance, and sent for the police and a doctor.
Dr. H. T. Hamilton, of Essex House, deposed to being called shortly after eight o'clock, and to finding deceased, who had been removed to an inner room, was dead. He had since made a post-mortem examination, and found that the heart was diseased. The cause of death was heart failure, due to fatty degeneration and aortic disease. The heart was in such a condition that he might have died at any moment.
The jury returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
