SHOCKING SUICIDE ON THE RAILWAY. -- On Thursday a man named Herbert Lester, 45 years of age, a labourer out of work, jumped in front of the 11.20 a.m. train from Oxford to Paddington, at Moreton Crossing. The train carried him for sixty yards, and literally cut him to pieces. The train was stopped, and the guard and engine driver got down, but the unfortunate man was of course past help. The inquest was arranged to be held at the Four Horse Shoes. Thame, yesterday (Friday). Lester, who was a married man, had previously attempted to commit suicide some four years ago.
