        FLYING OFFICER PEARCE AND MISS RUTH BATEMAN
        The wedding took place at St Marys church Battle, on Tuesday, of Flying Officer Ian C B PEARCE, son of Dr and Mrs PEARCE, of Crossways, Norfolk and Miss Ruth SUTHERLAND BATEMAN, daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank BATEMAN, of "Whitehayes" Battle. The Dean (very Rev. W W YOUARD) officated assisted by Cannon Pearce, of Sidcup.
        The service was choral, the hymn "The King of Love" being sung. Mr R A LUSTY was the organist.
        The bride was given away by her father, and a fellow officer of the bridegroom, Flying Officer EVANS, was best man.
        There were many friends present in the church and members of the ARP, formed a guard of honour.
        The reception was held afterwards at the Beauport Park Hotel.
