Edward Gardner, of Grosvenor-road, Hanwell, was summoned at Ealing Police Court on Thursday by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Mercy Gardner, who asked for a separation order on the ground of persistent cruelty.-Miss Johnson (court missionary) stated that she had seen the parties, but was unable to effect a reconciliation. Mr. J. H. Mockridge (for the defendant) said that whilst his client denied the allegation of cruelty, he would make an offer of 30s. a week, and would allow his wife the use of the home. The offer was accepted, and an order was made for 30s, a week.
