        Mr J HEALING
Much regret has ben felt at the passing at the comparatively early age of 40 Mr. John Joseph HEALING, who was a most popular figure in football and cricket circles in Herne Bay. He died on Sunday at "Akabe," Victoria Park, the residence of Miss TURNER.
Since May 1940 he had been a War Reserve Constable. Previously he was local manager for Messrs Jackson's bus and taxi proprietors, which business had been founded by his grandfather.
Mr HEALING played football and cricket for many years. At one time he played football for Derby County. He was a sound goalkeeper, and played in this position for the old Herne Bay Coasters, the Ex-Service Mens Club and the Institute and sports club, and also played for the Centrals Cricket Club.
        He was unmarried.
