OFFER TO CARE FOR ACCUSED CLERK
Young Man ‘Called by God' A YOUNG man volunteered at Warwick Assizes
yesterday to take care of a 42 years old clerk who had pleaded guilty to obtaining £4 by false pretences and who had previously been in prison.
JUDGE "IMPRESSED" The accused man. Thomas Lambert Hadfield. a clerk accountant with the Coventry Chain Company, was said to have obtained the £4 from a Leicester man.
After expressing some amazement, Mr. Justice Cassels listened further, and then said: I am much impressed. If I put this man in your charge do you think you can turn him away from his ways?
Brazell We are prepared to give him a home in our house There should be homes for such people,
The Judge: I am SO impressed I am prepared to take the risk with this warning he has got perilously close to preventive detention.
