        BALL HITS SPECTATOR
During the Australians second innings, Mr. Marshall, Chinnor, Oxford, a spectator, aged 77, was struck in the face with a boundary hit, and had to be taken to hospital on a stretcher.

Paisley Daily Express 19 August 1926
TEST MATCH SPECTATOR BADLY INJURED BY BALL.
An aged man, a spectator at the Oval, was so badly hurt yesterday by a ball hit to the boundary by an Australian batsman that he had to be rushed off to hospital. Andrews was batting, and twice in the one over he jumped out of his crease to meet the tempting slows of Rhodes and lashed them to the boundary. The first was an extremely fierce hit, and the ball struck Mr Crockford, of Chinnor, Oxfordshire, near the eye, and split his face so badly that he had to be rushed off to hospital on a stretcher. Mr Crockford is 77 years of age.
