INQUESTS BEFORE J. H. COOKE, Esq., CORONER FOR OXFORDSHIRE.- On Thursday, the 21st inst., at Ewelme, on the body of Charles Tuckwell, aged two years and eight months, who died the previous afternoon from the severe burns he received on the 15th inst., through his clothes accidentally catching fire during the temporary absence of his mother. Martha Tuckwell the mother, stated that on Friday, the 15th inst., about 11 o'clock in the forenoon, she left him for ten minutes to get a faggot as she was going to wash, and that at the time there was no fire visible on the dog irons; the deceased was left in charge of another boy about 10 years old, and on her return she found his clothes had caught fire in her absence, and his back and neck were severely burnt. The usual remedies were applied to the parts burnt, under the direction of Mr. Corsellis, surgeon, Bensington, but he never rallied, and died on Wednesday afternoon about six o'clock. Verdict, "Accidental death."
