        DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MR. W. J. AUSTIN.- The death took place on Thursday last, at his residence, the "Nag's Head," Wycombe. of Mr. W. J. Austin, founder of the well-known firm of Messrs. Austin and Sons, timber merchants, etc.. West Wycombe-road. who occupy extensive premises there, he having arrived at the conclusion of the allotted span of man's earthly life-three score years and ten. The deceased was born at Aston Sanford, Oxfordshire. and came to Wycombe in the early fifties and founded the above-mentioned firm. which has had a most successful Saree
        married Miss Elizabeth Stratford, of Bradenham, at that place. During an active and successful life Mr. Austin took a keen interest in public affairs, and had appeared on the platform at various political meetings, being intimately connected with the Liberal cause. The cause of death was senile decay, Dr. Fleck being deceased medical attendant. He leaves ten children to mourn his demise, these being Messrs. Fred S. Austin, T. Austin, J. Austin. and W. J. H. Austin. Miss M. Austin, Miss Miriam Austin, Mrs. F. Lynn. Miss Nellie Austin, Mrs. Lacey, and Mrs. Imne (Newcastle- on-Tyne). The funeral of the deceased took place on Tuesday at the Parish Church, the Rev. R. Oakley officiating. The mourners present included the members of the family from home and a distance away, with a large number of friends. Some beautiful floral emblems were forwarded, including one from the family and another from the employees of the firm.
