        THE LATE MRS. AUSTIN.-Our obituary column last week included an announcement of the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Austin, wife of Mr. Wm. Jonathan Austin, timber merchant, etc., of West Wycombe-road. The funeral, which took place on Tuesday, at the High Wycombe Cemetery, was the occasion for a large manifestation of sympathy with the bereaved wife and family. The remains, enclosed in a coffin of polished oak, were conveyed in a Washington Car to the White Hart street Primitive Methodist Chapel, where the service was conducted by the Rev. J. W. Naisbit. The mourners included Mr. W. J. Austin, widower; Messrs. Fred Austin, Tom Austin, and James Austin, sons; Mr. and Mrs. W. Austin; Mr. Geo. Stratford, brother; Mrs. Geo. Summerfield, sister; Miss Austin, Miss Minnie Austin, Miss Nellie Austin, Mrs, Lynn, Mrs. Geo. Summerfield, Mrs. Amos Lacey. Mrs. Henry, daughters; Mrs. Fred Austin, daughter-in-law, and her three children; Messrs. F. Lynn, Geo. Summerfield, and Amos Lacey, sons- in-law; Mr. T. Stratford, and Mr. Geo. Summerfield, jun. There were a large number of wreaths. The inscription on the coffin showed that the deceased lady was 65 years of age. The remains were committed to the earth by the Rev. J. W. Naisbit.

        DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MR. W. J. AUSTIN.- The death took place on Thursday last, at his residence, the "Nag's Head," W. combe. of Mr. W. J. Austin, founder of the well-known firm of Messrs. Austin and Sons, timber merchants, etc.. West Wycombe-road. who occupy extensive premises there, he having arrived at the conclusion of the allotted span of man's earthly life-three score years and ten. The deceased was born at Aston Sanford, Oxfordshire. and came to Wycombe in the early fifties and founded the above-mentioned firm. which has had a most successful Saree
        married Miss Elizabeth Stratford, of Braden ham, at that place. During an active and suc- cessful life Mr. Austin took a keen interest in public affairs, and had appeared on the platform at various political meetings, being intimately connected with the Liberal cause. The cause of death was senile decay, Dr. Fleck being deceased's medical attendant. He leaves ten children to mourn his demise, these being Messrs. Fred S. Austin, T. Austin, J. Austin. and W. J. H. Austin. Miss M. Austin, Miss Miriam Austin, Mrs. F. Lynn. Miss Nellie Austin, Mrs. Lacey, and Mrs. Imne (Newcastle- on-Tyne). The funeral of the deceased took place on Tuesday at the Parish Church, the Rev. R. Oakley officiating. The mourners present included the members of the family from home and a distance away, with a large number of friends. Some beautiful floral emblems were forwarded, including one from the family and another from the employees of the firm.
