DEATH OF MR. TOM AUSTIN.
It is with sincere and widespread regret that people learned of the death on Sunday morning last of Mr. Tom Austin, who for some considerable time had resided at Piddington, being in the employ of Messrs. B North and Sons. He appears to have been in the act of walking to Cadmore End Church for the Sunday morning service, when he was overcome by an epileptic fit to which affliction he was subject - and falling face downwards in the mud of a meadow gateway near Fillingdon Farm, respiration was impeded, and before anyone was aware of his dangerous condition he had passed beyond all human aid. He was afterwards found by men in the charge of threshing tackle at the arm, and his relatives and the police were communicated with, but an inquest was not deemed necessary. The fact that the deceased gentleman had on his person £18 in gold, together with a Spade Guinea, gold watch and chain, etc., disposed of any suspicion of robbery. He had also a Prayer Book in his pocket. From his position and the marks made in the soft ground, it is clear that Mr. Austin had passed away without regaining conscious- ness. Mr. Austin was of a well-known and esteemed Wycombe family. being a son of the late Mr. W. J. Austin, of West Wycombe-road. He was also a familiar figure at West Wycombe Church, where he frequently worshipped. He was 49 years of age, and unmarried. The funeral takes place this (Thursday) afternoon, leaving Victoria-street, High Wycombe, for All Saints Church, where the service will be held at 3.30.
