        WEDDING GIFTS
        FROM INDIA AND MALTA
A pretty wedding took place on the 27th December [1926], at Holy Trinity Church, Ramsgate, when Miss Gladys STEWART, daughter of Mr and Mrs J STEWART, of 59 Hereson Road, Ramsgate, was married to Mr Ernest RHODES, eldest son of MR and Mrs S RHODES, of 62 Hertford Street, Ramsgate.
The service was conducted by the Rector, The Rev. E P V LUFFMAN.
The bride, who was dressed in ivory silk with silver trimmings, orange blossom, and veil lent by Mrs ROCH, of St Peters, carried a bouquet of lillies and heather. The bridesmaids were the Misses Ivy and Ida STEWART, sisters of the bride, and little Gladys PAYE, niece of the bride. The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaids was a string of pearls.
Between twent and thirty guests sat down to the wedding breakfast. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr ROCH.
The happy couple were the recipients of thirtyeight presents. One was a large silk bedspread, sent from India, and two silk cushion covers from Malta.
