WARNING TO MILKMEN BOTTLES FILLED IN STREET
The bench would like me to point out that they feel that there is great laxity with regard to the handling of these discs. Apparently every rounds man is allowed to carry discs about. If any more of these canes come before the bench they will be more severely dealt with.
These remarks were made by the chairman (Col. E. E. Orier) at Ramsgate Police Court on Monday after the bench had before them a number of cases in which milk rounds-men were summoned for contravening the Milk and Dairies Order by filling milk bottles outside registered premises.
Stanley Arthur Hougham, of Rodney. street, Ramsgate, pleaded guilty to an offence In Royal-road, on 23rd July. The case for the prosecution was conducted by Mr. J. 1. C. Dillcock. Legal Assistant to Ramsgate Corporation, who said the Corporation were satisfied that the employer was in no way to blame for what had happened.
Thomas Leslie Martin, Second Sanitary Inspector to Ramsgate Corporation, said that in company with Sanitary Inspector Brown he kept observation on defendant in Royal-road and saw him All a one-pint and two half-pint bottles with milk from a container. These he he fitted with a cap which he took from his coat pocket. When spoken to, defendant admitted filling the bottles but said he had not delivered them. He was later seen to deliver the bottles
Defendant said he regretted his action very much and it was entirely his own fault. He had acted against the regulations and against his employer's instructions. Hougham was fined 30s or six days.
Ernest Rhodes, of Lime cottages, Honeysuckle-road. Ramsgate, was summoned for a similar offence on 24th September and at the same time Alfred John Pulford, of Margate-road, was summoned for aiding and abetting Rhodes
Not licensed Far Bottling.
Mr. Dillcock pointed out that in the case of Pulford, he held a license to sell bottled milk but his premises were not licensed for the bottling of milk.
Frank Brown, Sanitary Inspector of Ramsgate Corporation, said he was in Pulford's shop when he saw Rhodes fill two half pins bottles from a handcart and place them on the counter. Pulford placed discs on the bottles.
Rhodes expressed his regret and said he did not think he was doing any. thing wrong.

WEDDING GIFTS
FROM INDIA AND MALTA
A pretty wedding took place on the 27th December [1926], at Holy Trinity Church, Ramsgate, when Miss Gladys STEWART, daughter of Mr and Mrs J STEWART, of 59 Hereson Road, Ramsgate, was married to Mr Ernest RHODES, eldest son of MR and Mrs S RHODES, of 62 Hertford Street, Ramsgate.
The service was conducted by the Rector, The Rev. E P V LUFFMAN.
The bride, who was dressed in ivory silk with silver trimmings, orange blossom, and veil lent by Mrs ROCH, of St Peters, carried a bouquet of lillies and heather. The bridesmaids were the Misses Ivy and Ida STEWART, sisters of the bride, and little Gladys PAYE, niece of the bride. The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaids was a string of pearls.
Between twent and thirty guests sat down to the wedding breakfast. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr ROCH.
The happy couple were the recipients of thirtyeight presents. One was a large silk bedspread, sent from India, and two silk cushion covers from Malta.
