Abstract 1,137,226. Collapsible struts. RISBORO FURNITURE Ltd. 31 May, 1967 [1 June, 1966], No. 24508/66. Heading E2F [Also in Division A4] A strut or tie supporting a flap 9 of a table 6 comprises two parts 2, 3 hinged together at 11 and to the table at 4 and to the flap at 7, the strut taking up a supporting position in which the hinge points 4, 7, 11 are either in or just out of alignment, and a lever 16 pivoted to the flap with one end close to an edge thereof is used manually to press the strut downwardly so that it collapses. A tension spring 12 extends between anchorages (13, 14) or the parts 2, 3.
