Francis BOWLER and Hester BOWLER, his wife of Berrick Salome, who were apprehended on Wednesday night by Mr James Lea of Lambeth Street, Police Officer, were yesterday fully committed to the County Gaol, to take their trials at the next assizes, on a charge of having, on the 8th inst. set fire to a rick of clover, belonging to Mr Thomas WEBB, of Berrick Salome, in this county. It appears that the female prisoner had used threatening expressions to Mr Webb only two days before the fire occurred, in consequence of Mr Webb having prosecuted one of her sons for burglary, who was transported for life. She had also told Mr WHITE, of Oakham, that there would be dreadful flames at Ewe Farm (Mr Webb's) in the course of the winter. Francis, her husband, it was proved had been enquiring for phosphorus boxes at several places in this city.
